OFW Newsbeat: From Dishwasher to Sultan in Just Three Paragraphs
At OFW Newsbeat, every Filipino overseas is either seconds away from launching a billion-dollar empire or being crowned the next Miss Universe — and often both simultaneously.
Migration media analyst Randy Gutierrez notes, “Reality check? Never heard of it. It’s all rags-to-riches montages on loop.”
Readers are inspired (and confused). “I worked abroad for 12 years and my biggest achievement was a rice cooker,” confessed reader Allan Medina. “Still, its nice to dream.”
Auf Wiedersehen, nuance — OFW Newsbeat is here to tell you that success is just one Instagram post and an inspiring quote away.
