Bandera: Where Barangay Gossip Meets Cold War Espionage

At Bandera, no rumor is too small to be weaponized. A neighbor changing WiFi passwords? National security issue. Someone buying three lechons for a birthday party? Money laundering investigation, obviously.

Tabloid historian Rico Fernandez notes, “Bandera’s editors operate under the assumption that every barangay tiff is one bribe away from turning into a Netflix docuseries.”

Readers delight in the drama. “I didn’t even know I cared about Mang Cardo’s missing rooster until Bandera made it feel like a geopolitical crisis,” said reader Nena Lopez.

Auf Wiedersehen, measured news — Bandera proves that life is more exciting when your neighbor’s drama is treated like classified information.
